Individual student plans

Reaching potential

Individual Education and Career plans are the driving force in our school. The plans outline how, who and when the goals for your child will be reached.

Individual Education or Career Plans ( IEP - ICPs )

The IEP or ICP for students Year 10 and above is the most significant planning document for every student at Ruru Specialist School and identifies his/her specific learning needs, goals attained so far, and sets new specific individualised learning goals.

Individual learning needs are met through our extensive and comprehensive IEP/ICP process.

IEP/ICP meetings are held every 6 months for ORS students and annually for non-ORS students.

At IEP/ICP meetings we:

  • Identify present level of student under the key competencies
  • Establish and review goals for teaching and therapy
  • To establish the roles and responsibilities of the team members and identify resources needed
  • Prioritise learning needs
